A programme was organised by the Department of English, D. B. S. College, Govind Nagar, Kanpur, on 27/09/2024, to jointly celebrate the Birth Anniversary of T. S. Eliot, which is on 26th September, as well as World Tourism Day which is on 27th September. The occassion was graced by the presence of the respected Principal Prof. Anil Kumar Mishra, who, in his adress, intimated the students about the lofty ideals, and achievements of Eliot and encouraged them to pursue a life of creativity and intellectualism. Also present was Prof. K. K. Srivastava, Convenor, I.Q.A.C., who intimated the students about the importance and necessity of travel and tourism for a fruitful and complete life. Also present in the program were the faculty members of the Department of English, Dr. Seema Nigam, Dr. Rashmi Dubey, Dr. C. P. Singh and Mr. Saumyadeep Bhattacharya, all of whom presented snippets of knowledge to the students intimating them of the various important facets of both the occassions that were being jointly celebrated. The programme was made a grand success by the overwhelming presence as well as participation of the students who also presented lectures on the various importance of T. S. Eliot’s literature as well as travels and tourism.
