Department of Geography in DBS College with Graduate level started in 1965 by our Former Head prof .S.K Awasthi and Post graduate program under Self finance was started in 2006 by our Former Head and Director of Self finance courses DBS College kanpur Dr.K.C.L Srivastava. In 2009 and 2014 Two of our PG students scored Highest in Arts Group and honoured by Governor Gold medal. Till date morethan 20 students qualified UGC/CSIR NET and employed in diverse fields in the country and Abroad. Department is always upgrading itself by introducing New teaching methods and use ICT in Higher education. In 2021 Department introduced Diploma in Disaster management for Under graduate level as a vocational subject. We have two labs for UG and PG students and department is quite rich with practical instruments and tracing tables. We are taking our students for field visit and geographical excursion as a part of our course curriculum in different parts of the country. We encouraging our students for research project and preparation for competition Exam.
