Faculties: Department of Mathematics is well equipped with a rich library. There are number of books of Mathematics of Indian author as well as foreign author. Our professors are always ready to help our student in any aspect of life. Academic and researches achievements and activity: Number of research paper are published in national and international journals by the teachers of our department. Professors have been regularly presented the papers in national and international seminars. Lecture series, workshop, maths quiz and seminar are organised by the department of Mathematics time to time.

History of the Department

The Department of Mathematics started with the establishment of Dayanand Brajendra Swaroop College in 1959 in Kanpur. Mathematics was recognised as an important discipline. In the span of last six decades the department of Mathematics has turned out to be one of the major department in D.B.S. College, Kanpur. Dr. B. D. Shukla was the founder head of the department. Since then, the group of teachers carried out many innovation in teaching and research. Apart from undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, the department offered Ph.D. degree under the proficient guidance of the faculty members of the department. On the regular basis our department conducts guest lectures, quiz competitions, workshops and other academic activities apart from classroom teaching. A number of national seminars have been organised by the department time to time. The departmental library is equipped with number of precious books for postgraduate students and research scholars. Recently, the department introduced tools like MATLAB, Python etc. at U. G. and P. G. level. Presently many students of our college are placed in various prestigious posts in Government and private Sectors. Our future vision is to provide solid base on a diverse range of Mathematics, developing technological competency, mathematical thinking in our students.
