History of the Department

In 1959 Dr. Virendra swarup ji laid the foundation of DBS college in southern area of kanpur.The department of sociology was inaugurated in the college in the year itself under the headship of late L d sharma. After that L D Mishra, Subhash saxena, Dr V N singh, C S agnihotri, Dr R K singh, played there important role in taking the department. forward.at present professor Rajiv kumar and 3 departmental members are fulfilling their duties and responsibilities and department is scaling new heights day by day.
