Many teachers trained by the department are playing their role in nation building by serving in different parts of the country .At present the department is running B.Ed course under sell financed scheme along with theAided courses NCTE have granted recognition of two units each in both the courses. The number of students in each unit is fixed at 50 to conduct this course. the department is equipped with suitable classroom resource centres for information communication technology , arts and craft, health and physical Education ,curriculum laboratory and departmental library. At present 2 year B.Ed course is being conducted in the department. In future starting and integrated teacher education program is being considered .The department has one major research project and 7 minor ones supported by UGC .At present Chhatrapati shahuji Maharaj university sponsored research project is underwear with the support of the university. In the department at present 15 research Scholars are doing research work under the guidance of various teachers. Apart from this the department teachers have also published articles through National and international Publication. He has published his research papers articles and books .From here that students of the department have also made the department proud by securing notable positions in the University examination many times in the B.Ed examination of the session 2006 -2007 and 2021 -23 the first position in the university was secured by the student of this department Apart from this many students have secured their place in the first five positions. Many members of the department are presenting their lectures in National seminars, workshop and COURSE WORK research student.Through its community program the department prepares student to connect with the society and fulfils social responsibilities. Every year the department connect students with the community through visit to school of special children ,tree plantation literary campaign. The department will continue to move towards its goal in future also in creating and educational environmental rich with the latest technology and in creating skilled and qualified teachers. Although the presence of students in the class has emerged as a big educational challenge in recent years but efforts are being made to deal with these challenges through the dedication of the departmental teachers and the arrangement of online education.

History of the Department

The department of teacher education was established in DBS college in 1962. In 1962 the department started the Bachelor of Teaching course (BT). There after in 1965 B.Ed was started in place of BT course which is still running. Dr A.B.lal Shrivtastav became the first head of department .As an old Institution of the teacher training department the department has made a significant contribution in the field of education by preparing many skilled teachers.
