The National Cadet Corps is the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces with its headquarters in New Delhi. Founded in the year 1948, its motto, “Unity and Discipline”, captures, in a nutshell, the spirit and qualities it strives to inculcate among the youth of the country in order to guide the country on the path of security and progress. NCC had its aims charted in the year 1988 and continues to enthuse youths to achieve its elevated goals till date. The NCC aims at character development of the youth of our country. It is characterized by its goals of instilling character development, selfless service to the nation, secular outlook and camraderie among others. The importance of NCC is not just to inspire the students to join the armed forces of the nation but also to integrate within themselves a strength of character and morality that would hold them in good stead in their individual walks of life and in their individual careers.
Considering the role of students in nation building, the NCC wing of D.B.S college was established by Late Dr. Virendra Swarup in the year 1962 with Dr. K. M. Rai Saxena as the first associate NCC Officer. Dr. Rai retired as Major in the year 1984. Thereafter, Mr. Satyendra Saxena (1984-1997) followed by Mr. N.P. Singh Katiyar (1999-2023) adorned the post of NCC officer.
After his father, Late Dr. Nagendra Swarup made special contributions to the NCC department of the college during his tenure. Continuing the legacy, Er. Gauravendra Swarup, secretory board of management, encourages and supports the NCC department in all the possible ways. Thousands of NCC alumni are providing their services in various departments of the country after getting education from the college.
Presently Mr. Ajay Kumar has been continuously providing his service with utmost efficiency and dedication as an associate NCC Officer at the college.
