Dr. Anita Nigam is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at DBS College in Govind Nagar, Kanpur, a role she has held since 2009. She completed her undergraduate studies at Queen Mary’s College in Chennai in 1995 and her postgraduate studies at Government College, Hisar, affiliated with Kurukshetra University, in 1997. She earned her D.Phil. from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in Srinagar, Garhwal, and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Development from IGNOU, New Delhi. Dr. Nigam’s academic interests include Disaster Management, Cultural Geography, and the Environment. She has participated in over 80 seminars, webinars, workshops, and conferences, and published twelve papers in UGC CARE-listed and peer-reviewed journals, as well as twelve papers and chapters in edited books. Additionally, she has authored two reference books. She is an active member of various prestigious organizations and serves on the editorial boards of three peer-reviewed journals.
